Resolving issues
What issues are, how to read them, and how they go away.
What is an issue?
An issue is something about one of your domains that needs a look. Issues are listed on the monitoring page, most urgent first. Red issues are more urgent than amber ones.
Explanations and steps to fix
Click an issue to open its page. It explains why it matters and how to fix it, and tells you whether it currently affects the domain.
The issues you can see are:
- Unreachable: the website doesn't respond.
- SSL check failed: we couldn't check the SSL certificate.
- SSL expiring soon: the certificate expires within 30 days.
- Expiry unknown: we don't know when the domain registration ends.
- Security headers: recommended security headers are missing.
- Blacklist: the domain or its IP address is on a DNS blacklist.
- Nameservers changed: the domain's name servers have changed since the last check.
- SPF: the domain has no SPF record, or more than one. SPF lists which mail servers may send email as your domain.
- CAA: no CAA record is published. It restricts which companies may issue certificates for your domain.
- DNSSEC broken: the domain's DNSSEC records don't match.
How issues go away
Fix the problem, and the issue disappears after the next check. We check each domain about once a day, so it can take up to a day.
There is one exception. For an Expiry unknown issue, you can click Resolve on the monitoring page and enter the expiry date yourself. You need to be an owner or an editor to do this.
